Saving a plot from the GUI directly

I want to know how to save a plot that is displayed in the GUI. I can only save the entire GUI interface in .fig format by using the menu bar option but what I want is to save only the particular Graph or plot that is displayed in the GUI in .fig or any other format. Please help me with this.
