Huuumh.....a question in MATLAB forum about which is better..:) Use both and you may make conclusions......did you try it?

Simulink with HDL Coder and https://www.mathworks.com/help/visionhdl/index.html Vision HDL Toolbox, to generate VHDL or FPGA so that the encryption can be done in hardware.

However, for legal reasons, the only video encryption algorithm that we can discuss here is the null algorithm that leaves data completely untouched. Every other algorithm, including ROT13, falls under USA laws that require preauthorization to discus any algorithm for which the user could increase the effective keyspace beyond 56 bits.
