How to analyze the relationship between my data in a survey

10 views (last 30 days)
I am trying to a research on the effects of social media on students. So i have gathered the data which includes demographic answers along with their age groups, how they use social media. Most of the answers are from a range of 1-5 (1 being Never and 5 being Always). How can i use regression to find a relationship between 1 dependable variable and single/multiple independent variables?
Thanks!

Hello! I am currently doing a similar study as yours, but it is about consumer behaviour. I am not a proficient person in MATLAB coding, so I am having troubles now on starting it. Is it possible to send your code for references as I am veryyy lost?

"Carefully!" :)
So happens had reasons to think about this some recently -- a couple links I found of some use:
Closer to home; the Matlab Statistics Toolbox has section on "Multinomial Models for Nominal Responses"

Thanks dpb! Not all of my independent variables are on a Linkert scale. I have categorical variables as well like Gender,Age group and time spent on social media. How do i approach a regression with these? THanks!
