3D Gaussian filterning affects resolution of the images?

1 view (last 30 days)
I have used the imgaussfilt3 function to smooth my 3G images. I used the default settings where the 3D Gaussian kernel has standard deviation 0.5. Obviously the filtered image is a bit blurry due to smooting. I was wondering though if the Gaussian filter also affects the resolution of the image and if so how much? For example a standard deviation of 0.5 makes double the voxels?
