Old installation key - new Matlab version?

Hello,
Is it possible to install the new release of Matlab, if I only have an old standard license installation key (R2010b)?

No.
Installation keys have never been valid on newer releases than they were issued for.
And even if they were, the format of license keys changed in R2012a, so there would be no possibibility of the existing key working beyond R2011b.
