IMAQ toolbox: create a custom function

Hi
I am writing a custom adapter using Image Acquisition Tool to control our camera and would like to create a function (from Matlab) which invokes a function in C++. I couldn't find any useful infomation on Image Acqusition toolbox's adapter kit user's guide. Is this possible ?
