Does the algorithm behind cubic 'makeresampler' (used by imrotate) is the same as interp1's cubic?

The algorithm for cubic interpolation is sepcified in the interp1 documentation but is it the same algorithm that is used in the 'makeresampler' function? It sounds like it's pretty clear that they are the same but please answer only if you're absolutly sure.
