ellipseaxes.m
Add lines for the major and minor axes on an ellipse, returns the handles for post customization

With ellipse.m and ellipseaxes.m you can add an ellipse, its axes or both to the current plot. It returns the line handle such that you can modify the properties with get and set after the axes are drawn.
This is useful for example in displaying the principal axes on a scatter plot of data (see Emery and Thomson, Data Analysis Methods in Physical Oceanography, 2001 and princax.m in the Sea Mat toolbox at http://woodshole.er.usgs.gov/operations/sea-mat/
