To have a better and in depth understanding about the Principles of Communication in Engineering, students need to get more practice and hand-on experiences. However, due to Covid-19 pandemic getting hand on experiences has become a challenge [2]. Many subjects are taught online using different software and simulations. We studied Principles of Communication by formulating respective equations into MATLAB codes and observing the different outputs via plots and graphs, it was very fulfilling. Topics that we covered in the class and this report are primarily on Filters, Modulation, Transmission of Digital Data / Signal, Wireless and high frequency Communication parameters including spectrum / network analysis of WiFi, Bluetooth and Cellular Networks. Moreover, Transmission Line concepts with Smith Chart plots, Antenna radiation patterns using polar plots and Hand Off principles in Cellular Networks are easy to grasp via MATLAB simulations. MATLAB program and simulations have assisted the students to have a better understand of the concepts and equations and has developed a deeper appreciation of communication engineering. Our work focuses on the following:
1. Electric Filters: LPF and HPF,
2. Analog Modulation: AM and FM,
3. Digital Modulation: PSK, FSK and QAM,
4. Digital Data Transmission and Line Codes,
5. Multiplexing / Demultiplexing,
6. Antenna Theory,
7. Capacity analysis of WiFi, Bluetooth and Cellular Network,
8. Microwave Principles,
9. Optical Fiber,
10. Cellular Network, MIMO, SDR/CRN.
