This app computes the transmission loss of a labyrinthine-style Mie resonator acoustic metamaterial array to be used in a duct of the same radius as the outer radius of the metamaterial. All calculations and methods were acquired from Composite Acoustic Metamaterial for Broadband Low-Frequency Acoustic Attenuation by Chen et al in Physical Review Applied. This paper discusses the application of a Mie resonator metamaterial in conjunction with a Helmholtz resonator array for noise control in a duct. However, this app just considers the Mie resonator array. App's calculations give good agreement with the graph presented in the paper in Figure 2a.
Current Features:
- Computes the sound transmission loss of a Mie resonator array acoustic metamaterial
- User can modify the outer radius, path width, wall thickness, resonator height, curling number, and number of unit cells
- Variable frequency range for computation
