This article introduces a naturally inspired metaheuristic algorithm called the Secretary Bird Optimization Algorithm (SBOA). SBOA draws its main inspiration from the predatory strategies of the secretary bird when hunting snakes, as well as its strategies for escaping from predators and natural enemies. The proposed algorithm incorporates the secretary bird's three-stage strategy for hunting snakes into the exploration phase of the algorithm, and it utilizes two strategies for the secretary bird's evasion of predators and natural enemies in the exploitation phase of the algorithm, all of which are mathematically modeled.
