This MATLAB application accompanies the manuscript "Periodic generalization of quad-mesh rigid origami and its convergence to smooth surfaces" by the author and his collaborators.
The software facilitates the parametric design and visualization of two novel families of sector-angle-periodic quad-mesh rigid origami, stitched from proportional and equimodular couplings. It allows users to explore a broad library of more generalized quad-mesh rigid origami, extending beyond (anti)-V-hedra and T-hedra, and includes both developable and non-developable discrete surfaces.
Key features include customizable vertex types, grid size, sector angles, and crease lengths, as well as a slider over a folding angle and opacity.
The code allows for the easy reproduction of a general quad-mesh rigid origami by plotting it from its sector angles, a single column and row of crease lengths, and a folding angle.
