Battery charger with constant voltage and current mode

A battery charger with both Constant Current (CC) and Constant Voltage (CV) modes is the standard for safely and efficiently charging.

You are now following this Submission

Overview: CC-CV Battery Charging
✅ Stage 1: Constant Current (CC)
  • Charger supplies a fixed current (e.g., 1 A).
  • Battery voltage rises gradually.
  • Continues until the battery reaches the target voltage (e.g., 4.2 V for a Li-ion cell).
✅ Stage 2: Constant Voltage (CV)
  • Charger maintains a constant voltage.
  • Charging current tapers down as battery gets full.
  • Charging ends when current falls below a set threshold (e.g., C/20 or 100 mA).
