Celestial Orbit Optimization (COO)

Celestial Orbit Optimization (COO) is an innovative metaheuristic algorithm.

Celestial Orbit Optimization (COO) is an innovative metaheuristic algorithm inspired by the dynamics of planetary orbits around more massive objects such as stars. It was developed by Hamed Nozari and Hossein Abdi. By simulating orbital interactions, including elliptical rotations, orbital transitions, and gravitational perturbations, the algorithm advances the search process for optimal solutions by combining two phases of “deep exploration” and “targeted exploitation”. In the multi-objective version of this algorithm, the concepts of Non-Dominated Sorting and Crowding Distance are used to maintain the diversity and quality of the responses at the beam front. COO has a high ability to solve complex optimization problems with many constraints and multiple objective functions and is considered a very competitive option alongside other algorithms.
