Introduction to Hypersonic Flows

The FAMU-FSU college of engineering has developed a special topic course on hypersonic flight, designed to give an in-depth introduction.

This course is a technical elective course designed for senior undergraduate and graduate level engineering students in the aeronautical track and area of thermal fluid sciences. The course includes fundamentals of hypersonic aerodynamics. It provides a comprehensive review concerning applications, technological advances, and social impacts on developing a modern hypersonic flight vehicle. The course provides an overview of the guiding principles, comprehensive flow simulations, and experimental observationd to understand hypersonic flows. A set of unique Matlab tools were specifically designed to offer a user-friendly and interactive way for learners to apply skills and knowledge from the course, helping them visualize and better understand what's happening in real time.
