This Matlab program optimizes adsorption isotherm parameters for the Manz-Delgass (MD) model isotherm. It also has the ability to compute whole isotherm surface areas using these fitted parameters. This program uses bootstrapping to compute 95% confidence intervals on the model parameters and (optionally) surface area.
This provides a better approach than the Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) method for computing surface areas of nanoporous and microporous solids.
The computational method is described in the following journal article, which should be cited when publishing results computed using this program:
Thomas A. Manz and W. Nicholas Delgass, “A general-purpose model adsorption isotherm and whole isotherm surface area measurement method,” ACS Omega, 2026.
Please see the enclosed MD_program_user_guide_02_21_2026.pdf file for usage instructions.
