UM 2526-2 Absortion Project

Computational tool for modeling, simulating, and analyzing mass transfer in CO2 absorption processes using packed towers.

You are now following this Submission

This computational application is used to model, simulate, and analyze mass transfer in carbon dioxide absorption processes carried out in packed towers. It allows users to input critical operating variables such as initial solvent temperature, system pressure, feed gas flow, and packing geometry.
The app integrates rigorous thermodynamic models, including the Patterson and Morris equation for accurate solvent density determination, Henry's law for phase equilibrium, and the Pitzer correlation to characterize non-ideality in the gas phase. Furthermore, the tool supports the generation of dynamic performance curves, helping engineering students and researchers evaluate mass transfer coefficients, absorption efficiency, and the influence of different packing configurations on the overall process over time.
