Ablator

A high-fidelity MATLAB Digital Twin with a fully integrated GUI for simulating rocket engine transient aerothermodynamics, erosive ablation.

You are now following this Submission

This engineering software provides a comprehensive 1D radial heat transfer and ablation solver dynamically coupled with real-time core gas aerodynamics. Designed for propulsion engineers, it allows for the rapid evaluation of an engine's thermal survivability and liner wear before physical testing.
Key capabilities include dynamic Mach number evaluation via Newton-Raphson, convective heat transfer modeling using modified Bartz correlations, and supercritical liquid film cooling integration (Stechman/Hatch-Papell) powered by Python's CoolProp. The tool generates instant visual diagnostics, including spatial temperature distributions, ablation kinetics, and interface energy conservation, making complex thermodynamic trade-off analysis highly accessible.
