This app is an educational and interactive app that lets users like you to learn about shock expansion theory over a flat plate from your fluid mechanics class.
In this program, you will be able to learn the step by step process of learning how to compute flow quantities across an expansion wave and oblique shock. For expansion wave, you will apply Prandtl Meyer table/equations to compute for downstream quantities across the expansion. For oblique shocks, you will learn how to use the Theta Beta Mach chart to find our wave angle (beta) and use normal shock relations to compute for downstream quantities across the shock. You will also learn how to compute lift, drag, and the lift to drag ratio. The program will plot the flow field and Theta Beta Mach graph.
This program will let you generate practice examples, so you can practice and strengthen your skills in calculating flow quantities across expansion waves and oblique shocks!
