The goal of this project is to design a stable solid state Cornellium Cn3+laser in sapphire.
The laser material should have the following parameters:
Cn3+:A12O3 Optical Parameters:
Absorption band 0.45→0.55 μm (FWHM)
Emission band (with a Gaussian lineshape) 0.65→0.75 μm (FWHM)
Radiative lifetime 10 μsec
Index of refraction 1.75
Thermal Conductivity 35 (W/meter/Kelvin)
Maximum crystal size 5 x 5 x 20 mm
Cn3+ concentration 1012→1020 cm-3
