I designed this function with the clear intention in mind of constructing a (useful) database of refractive index. This is basically a function to organize things and (hopefully) set an standard.
The function computes the refractive index using a standard form of the Sellmeier formula (as the ones used in OSA's Handbooks of Optics). It accepts direct input parameters or a more sophisticated way using data structures. In the zip file is the function's code and a .MAT file containing and example data structure for the silicon (Si).
As you can see in the help, there are many features that are missing. This beta version is working (and used to compute stuff for my next publication), and I will finish in the near future, after deciding a few things regarding the standard.
Sorry for my English, I'm eager for your comments :D
