This package contains simple visualization scripts which work similar to Matlab's quiver, quiver3, trisurf or related functions, but in contrast, they pipe the data to vtk-files which may be called and visualized via Paraview, Mayavi2 or others.

Is it possible to add an optional variable VALS to vtkquiver as in vtktrisurf in order to colorize the quiver vectors?

Since vtkquiver stores only the vectors without underlying mesh, such a one has to be generated first. For instance, in ParaView:
1. Load pvd file that was generated by vtkquiver
2. Filter -> Delaunay 2D
3. Filter -> Stream Tracer
4. In Stream Tracer, set 'Interpolator Type' to 'Cell Locator' and set 'Seed Type' to 'Line Source'
