Application of pattern recognition and machine learning in images is a major area in image processing and computer vision research. However, large information content of images restricts straight forward use of pattern recognition algorithms like classification, clustering etc. Therefore, it is necessary to reduce the information contents of images. In this project, a method naming “Locality Preserving Projection (LPP)” has been analyzed for its use of reducing the information contents. A Graphical User Interface (GUI) has been implemented to show various aspects of locality preserving projection.
