London Kings Cross Western Concourse Genetic Algorithm

A simple genetic algorithm is applied to a model of the London Kings Cross Western Concourse.

I am a newbie to MATLAB. I'd love for the user community to have a look at what I've done and help me out. This is only the beginning. I eventually hope to make the model more complex and realistic.

Feel free to do whatever you would like with the code. But use it at your own risk. The code is supplied as a demo only and is unfinished.

I'm finding that the nodal deflections using finite element analysis (http://bit.ly/12ihjiL) are far higher than expected. I presume I've made a mistake somewhere.

I will endeavor to comment my code better during the coming days. But please have a look through. I have attempted to simplify things as much as possible with meaningfully named variables.

Hope you can make sense of it. Thanks for any help you can provide me. Cheers

1.3.0.0

In my last submission I had a few errors which I ironed out. There are still some I am working on now. I have also uncommented some of the graphical sections of code (makes it slower but it is more meaningful)

1.2.0.0

I've update the code with an option for gray code chromosomes. I've also worked out my initial error of not dividing the total Load by the number of segment numbers, thus applying too much load for accurate modelling.
