Generates N random numbers from an arbitrary PDF, defined by vectors x and y. This is just a slightly modified version of Dave Dykes' randarb.m (http://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/fileexchange/6506-obs-from-arbitrary-pdf) that is optimized for generating many random observations.
