The minimum functionality required to embed code onto the ArduPilot would
simply be the RC Read block with its outputs connected to the RC Write
block. This model will simply operate the aircraft in pure manual mode. The
ArduPilot will process the pilot commands and output the equivalent PWM
servo or throttle commands.as shown in figure

My issue was solved by shorting the JP1 pins because the output pins didn't have a power supply.
Thanks a lot for posting this, I am getting an input that I can read on a scope (running in external mode on 2012b) but can't get any of the outputs to change either on a scope or plugged into the board, could this be a timing issue?
What is the purpose of the PWM data conversion lines, do these need to be sent to the outputs somehow?
