These files use the Markov-Airy method to calculate the phase, and derivatives of phase (up to third order) of multilayer dielectric mirrors as a function of wavelength. In particular, they may be used to calculate the group delay dispersion (chirp) of the reflection. Knowing the dispersion of a mirror is critical to understanding how it will distort ultrafast (femtosecond) pulses.
The code may also be used to calculate the electric field inside every layer.
This code is unique in that no approximations are made when calculating the disperion. Other codes typically assume dr/dw = 0, which becomes a poor approximation when calculating derivatives up to thrid order.
