These functions supplement the PeerJ article by S.D. Starke and H.M. Clayton: A universal approach to determine footfall timings from kinematics of a single foot marker in hoofed animals. This function segments motion capture data of a dorsal hoof marker into discrete strides and outputs foot on/off events as well as graphics of the segmentation.
SegmentStridesThresholdbased executes stride segmentation based on thresholds as described in Section A and B of the paper.
SegmentStridesEventbased executes stride segmentation based on events as described in Section C and D of the paper.
Dataset Horse6_trot_circle_left_04.csv can be used to test out the functions.
Please note that this is the first time the functions are available to the community and we can obviously not guarantee that they will work with any dataset, although we hope so. The code is written in a very functional manner and can hopefully be followed easily.
