Given inputs of absorption coefficient, reduced scattering coefficient and depth within tissue, this function calculates the intensity of photons reflecting back toward the light source from within a specific depth within a tissue layer. Optical properties of materials and phantom models may vary. The image in the screenshot lays out the way the problem is formulated for clarification.
