Bacteria tracker and Uturn analyzer
This software (GUI) has been developed in order to detect and track magnetotactic bacteria (MTB), which are self-propellant bacteria, which orient themselves in the direction of external magnetic fields (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnetotactic_bacteria). In particular, the software is specialised in determining the diameter-of-curvature of the MTB making an U-turn in response to an instantaneous reversal of the magnetic field direction.
The software has been split into two parts:
- A part performing detection and subsequent tracking of the MTB. Both video’s and image sequences can be used as source data.
- A part performing U-turn analysis on the resulting trajectories.
Although the tracking script has been written with MTB in mind, it should be usable for a wide range of objects.
