Amplitude Modulation
Amplitude Modulation is a technique to modulate a message signal where the amplitude of the carrier signal varies according to the amplitude of the message signal. The amplitude of the carrier signal is sandwiched between the envelope of the message signal. For proper modulation the modulation index has to be brought under consideration. The Modulation index defines whether the modulated signal is under modulated or critically modulated or over modulated. For message to be properly transmitted, the modulation index should be less than 1. In over modulation, there is phase reversal condition which results in loss of information transmitted.
