In this project, we use the Unreal Engine to design a self-driving car. We mainly tackle the lane detection, vehicle detection, and path planning problems and try to generate safe reference paths for the vehicle to follow. By using the Unreal Engine, we can simulate our self-driving car in the Mcity map with other vehicles and test the efficiency of its algorithms. Our goal is to make the vehicle reach from point A to point B by only using a front camera as a sensor and a binary occupancy map to navigate its way to the destination. You can simply download the file from the MATLAB File Exchange and directly run the Simulink model to generate driving videos. There is an .mlx file that explains the lane line detection algorithm that we have developed in this project.
