Single phase HWR with RL load with Freewheeling Diode
This model is a simulation of a single-phase Half wave controlled rectifier with RL load and observing the output voltage and current.

This model contains two circuits. In one circuit if the output is observed without a freewheeling diode then there will be a current in the negative half also due to the charging of the inductor.
If the output is observed with a freewheeling diode connected in parallel in the load. then the negative portion of voltage is removed but the current waveform remains the same.
