Aitken's delta square method
Version 1.0.0 (3.9 KB) by
Milind Amga
Aitken's delta-squared method or Aitken Extrapolation is a series acceleration method, used for accelerating the rate of convergence.
Working Procedure for Aitken’s delta square method:
(i) Choose 𝑥0 initial approximation for root, obtain 𝑥1 and 𝑥2 using iterative method.
(ii) Improve this using 𝑥3 = 𝑥2 − ((∆𝑥1) ^2 )/∆ ^2 (x0) , now with 𝑥3 , obtain 𝑥4 and 𝑥5 with iteration method.
(iii) 𝑥6 is obtained by 𝑥6 = 𝑥5 − ((∆𝑥4) ^2 )/∆ ^2 (x3).
NOTE :- The instructions for using code is provided within the file.
