What Is Polyspace as You Code?
Polyspace as You Code™ is a development-time static code analysis solution for C and C++ software used in safety-critical and security-sensitive systems.
Polyspace as You Code integrates static analysis directly into the integrated development environment (IDE), enabling developers to detect potential defects and coding rule deviations as code is written. Early feedback in the IDE supports a shift-left approach to software quality, helping teams identify and address problems before they reach integration, verification, or CI stages.
This overview is particularly relevant for embedded software engineers, technical leads, and verification teams developing C and C++ code for systems where adherence to safety and security coding standards—such as MISRA C:2023, MISRA C++:2023, CERT® C/C++, CWE, and more—is common practice, especially for teams following industry standards such as ISO® 26262 (automotive functional safety) and DO‑178C/ED‑12C (avionics software).
By making static analysis available during everyday development activities, Polyspace as You Code helps engineers apply coding rules and identify software vulnerabilities consistently and earlier in the lifecycle. This supports more predictable code quality, reduces late-stage rework, and complements downstream verification and testing workflows typically required in regulated and safety-critical projects.
