Overview

This webinar shows how individual subsystem models are integrated into a complete Formula Student vehicle model and used for system level simulation and virtual testing. You’ll see how vehicle dynamics, multibody representations, and powertrain models come together to analyse overall vehicle behaviour under representative competition scenarios.

The session demonstrates full vehicle simulation workflows, including the use of virtual manoeuvres and events to evaluate handling, stability, loads, and energy usage. It also highlights 3D visualisation techniques that help teams better interpret vehicle motion, forces, and interactions, supporting design decisions before physical testing.

Why is this important?

Full vehicle models give Formula Student teams the ability to complete virtual testing and performance evaluation, bridging the gap between individual component models and race ready system understanding. It helps them understand how component choice and performance affect the entire vehicle’s performance; often the differentiator between a good and a great car.

By attending this webinar, Formula Student teams will gain practical insight into using full vehicle models for virtual testing and performance evaluation, bridging the gap between individual component models and race ready system understanding.

The webinar will conclude with a live Q&A, giving you the chance to ask questions directly to our automotive engineering team.
