Overview

Developing advanced RF, wireless, and radar systems demands rigorous traceability from high-level requirements to verified hardware. This session demonstrates how systems engineering—anchored by model-based approaches—can streamline the development of complex RF systems. Using a radar Transmit/Receive Module as a case study, we’ll show how to flow requirements from initial concepts to architecture, simulation, detailed design, and final verification, all while maintaining a digital thread.  In this demonstration, we will start with a golden reference MATLAB model & high-level tests that we will re-use as we elaborate the design to continuously verify our system.  Finally, we will validate the system's ability to detect targets with our designed component.

About the Presenter

Sam Lehman is an Application Engineer at MathWorks. Sam graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a BS in Physics and an MS in Electrical Engineering with a concentration in Digital Signal Processing. Prior to MathWorks, Sam worked as a software engineer developing signals intelligence and geo-location systems for the Boeing Corporation.
