Target Devices for Real-Time Linux

The Linux target device is a Linux^® physical or virtual machine that you configure to work with the support package. During setup, the Linux target device needs internet access to allow the support package installation of Simulink^® Real-Time™ dependencies.

It is possible to use the same computer to serve as the development computer and as the host for a virtual machine that contains the Linux target device. For an example of this approach, see Set Up Virtual Linux Target Device. Note that the username and password needs to have passwordless access for the virtual Linux target device.

The Linux target device can be any machine with x86_64 architecture and Debian^® 11 (Bullseye) or Debian 13 (Trixie) Linux OS.
