Heat Flow Rate Source

R2026b

Constant source of thermal energy, characterized by heat flow

  • Heat Flow Rate Source block

Libraries:
Simscape / Foundation Library / Thermal / Thermal Sources

Description

The Heat Flow Rate Source block represents an ideal source of thermal energy that is powerful enough to maintain specified heat flow at its outlet regardless of the temperature difference across the source.

The source generates constant heat flow rate, defined by the Heat flow rate parameter value.

Examples

Ports

Conserving

expand all

Thermal conserving port associated with the source inlet.

Programmatic Use

Port: A

Thermal conserving port associated with the source outlet.

Programmatic Use

Port: B

Parameters

expand all

Constant Heat flow rate through the source. Positive heat flow rate flows from port A to port B.

Programmatic Use

Parameter: heat_flow

Programmatic Use: Add Block

To add the block programmatically, use the add_block function with one of these library block paths as the source.

"fl_lib/Thermal/Thermal Sources/Heat Flow Rate Source"

Example: add_block("fl_lib/Thermal/Thermal Sources/Heat Flow Rate Source","myModel/myBlock",MakeNameUnique="on")

For information about programmatic access to individual block parameters, see the Programmatic Use section of parameter descriptions on this page.
