Quick Start Guide to ArduPilot Hardware Setup Process
Setting up your hardware is the first essential step before you can use ArduPilot with MATLAB® and Simulink®. The hardware setup screens guide you through configuring your autopilot board, installing required software, and ensuring your development environment is ready.
To launch hardware setup process:
After completion of support package installation, click Setup Now.
If you have already installed the support package and chose to setup later, open the Add-Ons panel by clicking Add-Ons > Manage Add-Ons in Environment section of the Home tab.
The hardware setup process guides you through each step with clear, easy-to-follow instructions.. You will be prompted to:
Install necessary third-party tools such as Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL2), Ubuntu, and Python.
Download and configure the ArduPilot source code and toolchain.
Select your ArduPilot-compatible board and vehicle type.
Install Mission Planner for firmware upload and management.
Build and upload the ArduPilot firmware to your board.
Test the connection to verify everything is working.
