With FlexNet 10.8, why am I getting a license manager error -8 when running redundant servers?

Upon launching MATLAB R2009a or older, I receive a license manager error -8 when using a redundant server with FlexNet 10.8.

There is a known bug in FLEXNet 10.8 which does not allow you to run redundant license servers if the license file is locked to IP addresses. If the license file is locked to IP addresses, the SERVER line would look like the following:

SERVER MyLicenseServer INTERNET=192.25.245.32 27000

To resolve this issue, you will have to generate a new license file which is locked to the MAC addresses of all three redundant servers.

Additionally, this issue has been resolved in later releases of FlexNet, and so you can use a later version to resolve this issue.
