I have seen the matlab compiler and I have also seen the Java Builder, I was looking to possibly develop some code that I could also use with java etc. I would be using matlab GUI and also image/computer processing and I would need these to run in java. Can I buy the matlab compiler/Java Builder with the student version. Which one would be best for developing interactive java code so everyone(including people who don't have matlab) could utilize my programs. thanks in advance for peoples help Calvin

Sorry, no, the Student Version can never be used with MATLAB Compiler or MATLAB Coder.
You should talk to a professor: in some cases it would be legitimate to allow you to use an Academic License.
