With the introduction of Cody Coursework, I'm often asked how it can be used for conducting proctored examinations of MATLAB programming problems.

This is the assessment center model, where you have lab computers on which students can only navigate to a very small number of sites and perform limited tasks. The computer also controls what software you can launch.
Proctoring software obtained from 3rd-party vendors and installed onto each lab computer needs to do two things to work effectively with Cody Coursework:
First, it must restrict what software students are permitted to execute on the computer. For example, a prof may not want the student to be able to launch MATLAB or have access to the MATLAB documentation.
Second, much like firewall software, it must restrict which URLs the lab computer can access. The purpose of this is to prevent students searching Google for the answer to the problem the examination problem(s) are attempting to test.
Instructors have the option to use Cody Coursework in conjunction with any third-party exam proctoring software provided it satisfies these requirements.
