imaqtool preview working but saved AVI blank
Show older comments
I am currently using imaqtool on an older windows 7 machine to record data from my microscope. I use a Q-Imaging fast 1394 camera which requires an older computer for its interconnect. When using the program I have the resolutions set to 380*260 so that the preview has a useable framerate for focusing the microscope on my microparticles. Once that is set I aquire a short video, running at 15fps for 30-60 frames, and have the logging set to save the avi to my disk so that I can transfer that file to my other computer for image analysis.
Using this setup I ran into a few issues, the first being that when I checked the files on the W7 machine they could not be opened. Through googling I found that it is likely due to my resolution and that saving the file as compressed can solve the issue, which is true to the extent that the file can be opened, but it is not ideal for maintainig quality. After I was able to open the files, I ran into a secondary issue, the video files are totally blank. I checked with a few different programs, across multiple machines and windows media player, vlc and ImageJ all show the same blank screen, compared to the preview before aquiring which is showing the microscope slide properly.
I suspect there is some issue in how imaqtool is saving the files, but frankly I am still new to MatLab and any help in identifying where in the code, or better in the imaqtool gui settings, there is an issue causing my blank files.
thanks for any help.
