matlab uart reading problem

hi,

i am trying to interface infineon XMC1300 with matlab. i had run a simple uart program to transmit hallo world but i was unable to recive in matlab.

fopen(s1);
accX=0;
str='';

   str=fscanf(s1);

 close(s1);
delete(s1);
clear s1;
  end

i am still getting the error msg saying

Warning: Unsuccessful read: A timeout occurred before the Terminator was reached.

i tried using cf/lf instead on 000 still error
