How can I download SSE2/SSE3 instruction set?

26 views (last 30 days)
I recently updated my skype software, but after the download, i encountered a message which says that my computer does not support SSE2 instruction set and can no longer establish video calling capability. but prior to the update, everything seems to be working fine. it only happened after the update. i tried to use system restore but it didn't work. after doing a few research, a came up with a tool named CPUID to check my CPU's supported instruction set and compared the specs to the details that shows from the manufacturer's website. i got confused on the comparison because mine does not include SSE2/SSE3 support but the manufacturer's website shows that it is included. i really wondered what happened, or if it is even possible to re-install it to my CPU. i really need help on this since i can't utilize my computer's video calling option. hope that there's someone who could shed some light on this. TIA

SSE2 is hardware component of the CPU; can't change what that is.
About the only possibility other than a hardware failure is that there is a BIOS setting that you can change altho I don't recall SSE being a facility that is normally set therein...
This is not anything even remotely connected to Matlab.
may at least let you get a rudimentary understanding of what you're talking of.
