x = linspace(-5,5);
k = sin(x.^2);
l= exp(cos(x));
y = k.*l;
plot(x,y)

USE THIS WAY, IT HELPS. I THINK YOU WERE JUST MISSING 'LINSPACE' COMMAND. GOOD LUCK!
