How do you remove tick labels from a geoaxes object?

I have a geoaxes object inside a rather small panel object, and the figure needs all the room it can get. Currently the tick labels are taking up precious space in the panel, making the figure smaller than I'd like it to be. Is there any way to remove these labels?

gx.LatitudeAxis.TickLabels = {};
gx.LongitudeAxis.TickLabels = {};

If you want to remove the axis labels too,

% gx.LatitudeLabel.String = '';
% gx.LongitudeLabel.String = '';
