Error using flip -- too many input arguments

I have limited experience with Matlab. I am using version R2014a. I am getting a 'Error using flip' message at odd times -- for example, when I try to set a java class path:
>> javaclasspath('c:\PROGRAMMING\PROJECTS\Java_Classes_for_Matlab')
Error using flip Too many input arguments.
Error in fliplr (line 13) x = flip(x,2);
Error in javaclasspath>local_extract_jar_file_name (line 311) if strncmp(fliplr(fullp),fliplr('.jar'),4)
Error in javaclasspath>local_validate_dynamic_path (line 249) jar_file_name = local_extract_jar_file_name(spEntry);
Error in javaclasspath>local_javapath (line 182) pathin = local_validate_dynamic_path(pathin);
Error in javaclasspath (line 102) local_javapath('-setdynamic',a);
This error is in Mathworks' code, not mine. What gives?

Lee - have you perhaps created your own version of the flip function? In the Command Window, type
which flip -all
What do you observe when you run the above?

Your solution worked for me. I had downloaded a set of functions from MathWorks, one of which was named "flip.m". Renaming the file fixed the problem.
