I have a 201 X values, where each X value has 1000 Y values. I want to create a 3-D histogram showing the distribution of the Y values across each X value as the X value increases. The number of total Y values for each X value should add up to 1000 across the distribution. I have the values saved in a cell array, where A(:,1) is a single value cell and A(:,2) are 1x1000 vectors containing the corresponding Y values. how can I create a 3D bivariate histogram to display the data?

So in principle you want to put independently 201 1d-histograms one after the other in a 3d-perspective where each of the 1d-histograms represents the distribution of the 1000 y-values associated with the repective x-value ?

I'd generate the 201 empirical PDFs from the 1000 realizations (y values) of the 201 x-values and make a surface plot with x-y coordinate as basis and the values of the PDFs as z-coordinate.
To generate the PDFs, you can either use the usual "histogram" or "ksdensity".
